(More customer reviews)Disappointed by the brightness of these lights, they appear the same as the standard Sylvania bulbs. (I have one of each in my car right now so it's easy to compare). But given they use less energy than the standard bulbs, that is an overall benefit. Only been installed a month, so can't compare the lifetime of the two bulbs.

(More customer reviews)The bulb came in the package you see in the listing but the package was crumpled and the grey coating on the end of the bulb was worn off onto the inside plastic package in two spots. bulb works and I guess I'll keep it cause of hassle factor, sure hope its not blinding oncoming traffic (I have no idea what the effect of the worn spots is). This item should not be sold as new given the condition of the packaging.

I installed a set in my 2002 Honda CRV. One burned out in about 4 months and I don't have running lights. A call to Sylvania customer service gave a offer to send a new set if I returned the burnt out bulb with the sales reciept. OK thats nice, 2 for 1. Very generious,however the second set did not last any longer. Another call to C.S. This time the rep. was more helpfull or should I say truthful. I was informed that some makes of vechiles such as Honda and BMW, as well as other forgien makes run as high as 15 volts to the headlights causing premature failure of the Silver Star and Silver Star Ultra bulbs. Therefore Sylvania does not recomend them for these cars. Now they tell me.
I have had a set in my Chrysler T&C van for over 2 years. No problem.
Check with your dealer if your car is not US and save yourself money and aggravation.

(More customer reviews)I am using these bulbs in our 2003 Honda Odyssey. While they do NOT last as long as OEM, I have found that the light they put out is much more suitable for night-time driving. They are MUCH better than the "Sylvania SilverStar" bulbs, which will only last around 6 months. I've consistently gotten at least a year or so from the bulbs, and find that the more-frequent replacement is worth the improved lighting.
That said, save yourself a few bucks and buy the 2-pack. It's only like $5 more, which makes the replacement much more economical.
I'm giving it 4-stars, mainly because I like the light these put out. The price is OK, and they could last longer, which knocks them down a bit.

(More customer reviews)I've purchased the Silverstars before, so I knew what to expect when I got them. For those of you wanting a bright white light without the high cost of a xenon headlight kit, or PIAA bulbs (which are top of the line), then silverstars are for you. A word of caution though - they don't last as long as normal or long-life halogens; but they look real nice on any car.
If you're looking for a blue tinged light, or a yellow tinged light, this bulb isn;t for you. It's only for those who like the pure, bright white of efficiency.

(More customer reviews)Bought these for my wife's '07 Honda CR-V. The stock headlights are terrible and these are definitely both significantly brighter and of course much whiter. I've read that they won't last as long as typical lights, but as long as they last longer than Silverstar's I think I will be happy. Too bad U.S. doesn't offer the HID headlights for the CR-V like the rest of the world can get. I wouldn't have this problem at all!

(More customer reviews)I own a 2004 Honda CRV and was hoping to improve the headlight performance. I've heard about the aftermarket headlamps that claim to provide HID-like performance. I also read the Consumer Reports review that summarizes that these aftermarket bulbs do not perform better than OEM and typically have a shorter lifespan. I decided to try the GE Nighthawk and was disappointed. I replaced one bulb and compared it to the original (which is four years old): it looked slightly whiter but it did not improve night visability (it did not illuminate any objects farther away). The GE Nighthawk was manufactured in Hungary, whereas most other brands are manufactured in Germany. I'm not in the lighting business, but the opaque cap on the bulbs were not the same length (not even close, where is the quality control?). Don't bother paying more for the GE Nighthawk, just go back to the Honda dealer and buy OEM replacements. Consumer Reports was right!
P.S. I also tried the Sylvania Ultra Silverstar on another vehicle and in my opinion they are no better than the Sylvania XtraVision (and 60% more expensive)
