GE D2S 5100k HID Replacement Bulb Review

(More customer reviews)After deducing that my OEM HID bulbs (both low beams) on my 2000 Audi A4, 1.8T (ATW) were basically just old (I had more than 3000 hours on them, they are good for about 2000 hours), I searched and found these GE bulbs. The OEM replacements (Philips Osram) were more than 2x as much per bulb, so I thought I'd try out these bulbs. Wow is a good way to put it.
1) Construction: The bulb is well made and you can see that in the way it is assembled. DO NOT TOUCH THE BULB, handle it by the base only.
2) Light color: The bulb burns a cool-white, not too blue.
3) Projection: The bulb casts out a lot of light, from what I remember, more than the original bulbs when they were new.
4) Bulb noise: The old bulbs always had a little bit of a buzz to them when they operated (since new). I have not noticed this with the new bulb.
5) Similarities between bulbs: This is my only gripe. After I installed both bulbs, I noticed that one of them burned whiter than the other (the other being a little more blue). This is not really an issue with the operation of the bulb or how well it lights up the roadway.
6) Overall value for the price: I feel that I made the right choice in bulbs, not that it's a life-changing experience. I wanted a good, well made, light bulb. The price for a single D2S bulb ranges from $20 on up to >$150. I paid around $70 for each bulb. I didn't want to take a chance and have to re-purchase bulbs. I would recommend this manufacturer to anyone who wanted to replace their failing light bulbs.

After my first set eventually wore out, I replaced them with the RAIN-X brand......big mistake. I've regretted the purchase ever since. I'm going back to ANCO's Contour brand and never changing brands again!
As far as the gentlemen giving these a bad review, perhaps he did not make sure the one's he bought were for his vehicle. Make sure you double-check.

Valeo 900-18-1B Ultimate Wiper Blade - 18" Review

(More customer reviews)I have used Valeo Ultimate wipers on my 2007 Honda Element (20" blades) and 2003 Mini Cooper S (18" & 19" blades) and find that they are the best blades I have ever used. In Maine with cold wet winter weather many wipers tend to stiffen up and leave streaks in when cold. The Valeo blades still manage to clean the windshield without streaks even when it is snowing.
As to the problem of not contacting the windshield mentioned in a previous review. The Honda Element has a fairly flat windshield and it is not an issue. The Mini has quite a bit of curve on the passenger side so it doesn't wipe the last few inches at the lower corner of the windshield. When I first tried them I considered returning them but other than the corner of the passenger side of the windshield they just work great. If the windshield gets splashed with water just one swipe and it is absolutely clean. If they wiped down to the corner I would have rated them 5 stars as after almost a year on the Mini they are still going strong.

(More customer reviews)I bought 2 pairs of these for use with a Ford and a Mazda. Both have narrow wipers of appropriate length and are supposed to be compatible with this product.
The refills are just a tiny bit too wide (not more than 0.5mm or 1mm too wide) and that makes them 100% unusable. On the Ford, where I was lucky and I managed to squeeze the refills in it took FOREVER to get it right (I spent almost 30 minutes on the first wiper and about 15 on the second)
On the Mazda, I just couldn't get it done. I had to use pliers to slightly widen the gap on the little metal pieces that are supposed to hold the refill just to get it through and ended up destroying my blades.
I cannot think of a single good thing to say about this item!
do yourself a favor and buy a different product.

(More customer reviews)The wiper itself is great, does a good job of hugging the windshield and clearing water. Better than the stock wipers I had before. My only complaint is the same I have for rain-x in general: I can never get that commercial-quality rain sheeting action. It doesn't really sheet off as much as I would like to see. I would still highly recommend the wipers, and would say there is slightly noticeable difference in how quickly water sheds off. It's better, just not as better as I would have hoped.
