(More customer reviews)I've used this bike tray for over a year now and it almost cost me a very expensive LOOK carbon fiber bike because it wasn't clamping down enough on the fork to hold the bike securely. I couldn't get it adjusted enough to clamp the fork after less than a year of use so I returned it to my LBS (local bike shop) where I bought it to warranty it. Thule replaced it free of charge but the new one is already showing signs of having the same problem.
The manager of the store said they had another customer who has gone through two of these trays already with the same problem as me.
There is a serious problem with this product and Thule needs to address it before I will recommend this product to anyone.

Thule 518 Fork Mount Rooftop Bicycle Carrier Review

(More customer reviews)I have an older Peloton (517) but bought two of the Echelon (518) and really enjoy the difference in quality and ease of use. The head is heavy and sturdy and the locks are easier to reach. Actually, everything else (the tire tray) is about the same as the Peloton - it is the head and the mounting bracket that make them different. The bracket is also extremly solid, securing the carrier completely across the base of the head. The Peloton has more of a U-bolt type of bracket and it always makes me feel as if the bike could wobble a bit at high speed.
I am a faithful Prime member and truly buy most everything from Amazon, including expensive cameras and tools. But for some reason I actually had a couple of returns with this product. I had ordered another Peloton first, but it came with a bolt that was not threaded properly, so I returned it and got an Echelon but it had scratches on the tray, so I returned that also and got the two Echelons at East Providence Cycle, my local bike shop.
Let me also add that no store is more accomodating with returns than Amazon. I am always confident in my purchases that they will be stressfree that way.

This is my first set of 450s and I'm surprising pleased. Like all Thules these are well built and beautifully designed. I had some trepidation about the plastic strap on the bottom [I'm a big fan of the 415s] but these fit securely and are working out nicely. Customer service at Thule is incredible; another great reason for buying their products.

Thule 684 Terrapin Hitch Mount Luggage Box Review

(More customer reviews)I must have shopped 3 months for the best price on this storage box. I really wanted to support the loacal shop here in Denver, Rack Attack, but after repeated attempts to get them to match the before tax price of the Amazon product, I decided to just buy it from Amazon. It was also annoying that if I was willing to pay the extra money for their box that they wanted to charge me an additional amount to have them assemble and install it. In all, I saved about $80 by buying it from Amazon.
I could not have been more happy with the purchase experience. It was delivered as agreed and in perfect condition.
The box itself took about 2 hours to assemble and install. Not very difficult, but certainly time consuming. Also, unless you are okay with semi-heavy lifting, you should probably do this with another person. The box fit perfectly into my 2007 4-Runner hitch. The only problem was that I needed an adapter from 7 pin to 4 pin to get the brake lights to work. I had to buy this from Wal-Mart for $18.
Lastly, after installation, only one of the brake lights was working. After about 20 minutes of inspection, I realized that when I was assebling the box I had accidentally disconnected one of the brake light wire assemblies. It's easy to do if you're not careful...somewhat of a design flaw. Once reconnected, the box worked like a charm.
I am very happy with the purchase and recommend it to anyone looking for a little extra cargo space for road trips.

(More customer reviews)We received this product and it had some plastic pieces that were broken plus the load bars had scratches on them. It was obvious that someone had used it before. With that said we kept it because frankly its a roof rack and we didn't need it to be pretty. The functionality is great. Being able to remove the load bars with a push of two buttons is extremely useful. We were also happy that we could get a cargo box PLUS our tandem bike rack on this rack at the same time. You of course need to get the right cargo box to make that work. Would have gave it 5 stars if the product actually came new like advertised.

Terzo-brand bars that finally rusted out and gave way. Only 3 stars are awarded as I found the picture misleading: the end caps are NOT included, I'll have to buy these separately now. Had I known (or read the written description which omits mention of the caps) I would have sprung the extra $5 to get the caps included in my free shipping.

About Thule To say that Thule’s beginnings in the U.S. were humble would be an understatement. Founding member Ake Skeppner sold products at windsurf competitions on the New England shoreline, exhibited the product line at a number of different trade shows, and even canvassed local retailers in the greater New York area, all from his "office"--a now-famous station wagon. Initial success was found in the small but growing sport of windsurfing where a strong, reliable roof rack was an indispensable piece of equipment. This was quickly followed by success in the ski business where Thule's Swedish heritage certainly helped the product gain rapid acceptance.

(More customer reviews)This product is straight forward easy to install as advertised. My roof rails are foolishly body colored rather than something more wear forgiving. The soft rubber mounts allow for tight installation and full removal with no marks left or paint abrasion.
The weight gives you confidence that it'll take the load. This sucker is solid.
If I had one gripe it would be that the gear for tightening/loosening requires too many turns.
If I needed a second set, I would not hesitate to buy another set.
