This time I decided to try the 17- series with the Teflon blade. I expected them to slide nicely even on a dry or drying windshield (we're talking Teflon, after all), instead they chatter more loudly than the standard refills even when it's raining hard. The price of the 17-190 refill is less than a dollar more than the 46-190 refill, but even so, not worth the difference.

(More customer reviews)I bought one of these things when I discovered my Honda Odyssey has a special rear wiper arm that isn't generic so I couldn't find a true replacement for it. It turns out the manufacturer recommends just replacing the wiper refill anyway, so I got this. It works fine and I learned something valuable.
When you consider the typical vehicle these days has 3 wipers, all different sizes, sometimes with different attachment arrangements, it can get complicated and expensive replacing them all twice a year as recommended. But, replacing just the wiper refill is much simpler and cheaper and I am more inclined to do the twice-a-year thing. So, I'll be doing that with all my vehicles in the future.
This is the only wiper refill I've bought, so can't really say whether it's better or worse than its competitors.

Second, the product was shipped in an enormous box in relation to the size of what came inside (which could have perfectly fit in an envelope).
Bottom line, don't buy this.

(More customer reviews)Bought these blades as part of a 2-for-1 deal. They are easy install, much like any other wiper blade. They're supposed to offer superior wiping performance. I don't know if they're superior to other brands I've used, but they have been good in both wet and snow. What I don't care for is the mount, in the middle, where the blade connects to the wiper arm. It is a little boxy in shape, larger than what is on other blades, and it is a distraction when the wiper is working -- there's this square black block going back and forth right in the middle of my line of sight as I drive. I probably will not buy them again for this reason.

My only complaint is the same I have for rain-x in general: I can never get that commercial-quality rain sheeting action. It doesn't really sheet off as much as I would like to see. I would still highly recommend the wipers, and would say there is slightly noticeable difference in how quickly water sheds off. It's better, just not as better as I would have hoped.

(More customer reviews)Ok, first things first, I bought these on sale and with a coupon at a local auto store for a price that couldn't be beat. Installed them on my 05 Camry. Silent operation and no streaks. Good so far, until I started using them in cold weather. Those silly endcaps are the only thing that's holding the beam stiffeners in place. One of the beams fell off because one of the endcaps popped off. My other blades shows endcap looseness as well. I thought they were held in place with glue or something, boy was I wrong. Save your money folks, I'm going back to the Teflon blades with the metal arms (Trico Products 15-240 Teflon Wiper Blade - 24"). Those lasted me two years, rather than the three months with these beam blades.

(More customer reviews)When I first purchased my truck a few years ago the wipers really bothered me. They were classic rubber style, made alot of noise, and left the windshield streaky. Not to mention the standard rubber degraded quickly and became stiff during the winter giving a worse performance than under normal conditions.
I replaced the stock blades with a brand of silicone wipers I found at Wal-mart which were much better but still had a tendency to make a chattering noise which is like nails on a chalk board.
These PIAA blades however are a breed unto themselves. The blades wipe clearly, apply a more even pressure over the entire length of the blade, and are completely silent. PIAA even sends you a pretreatment for your windshield much like RainX but works much better using an activated silicone to repel water. Make sure you start with a clean windshield for optimum performance.
These blades have another feature that could help stop skipping at faster speeds with the addition of a spoiler that keeps the blades pressed tight to the windshield. One final note: these blades contain a slew of different adapters to fit nearly every style of windshield wiper socket on the market. Easy to use and easy to install.
These wiper blades are a great price and a great purchase.

Easy to install on some vehicles, nearly impossible on others, so check your owner's manual first and then look at your own car to see how easy it will be to swap bulbs. Downside to the SilverStars is their life, especially if they are on all the time as daytime running lights. You may need to replace them more than once every year. But even if you do, it seems like $40 (per pair) is a reasonable investment in safety that the improved lighting brings.
